Westfield High School will host a Youth Football and Cheer Night this Friday, Oct. 2 when the Rocks host the Avon Orioles at 7 PM.

Please review the information below as WHS has decided to introduce youth teams’ pregame this year rather than at halftime.

– Youth team members along with youth coaches get into the game for free when they wear their WYSI jersey / cheer uniform / coach’s shirt.  All other family members and fans must purchase a ticket or have a season pass.

– Gates will open at 6:00 PM and youth teams can gather in the north end zone and home sideline to watch the Rocks warm up.

– Teams should arrive between 6:00-6:30 PM and go to the north end zone or Westfield sideline.

– At 6:35 when the varsity team leaves the field, all WYSI football teams will go to the north end of the track, getting organized by age group.

– At 6:35 when the varsity team leaves the field, youth cheerleaders will form a tunnel on the field coming from the helmet.

– Introductions begin at 6:40 PM and go in this order: Flag Football, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade, Travel.

– After all football teams have been introduced, the youth cheerleaders can run behind the helmet and run through the helmet as they are introduced as a group. All cheer teams will go at one time.

– All youth football and cheer teams will run from the helmet to the Westfield sideline. They will stay there as the band marches on the field and plays the national anthem and as the dance team performs their routine.

– After the dance team is finished, all youth teams will make a tunnel for the varsity Rocks as they run out of the inflatable helmet around 7:00PM.

– After the varsity team runs on the field, all youth football and cheer teams will exit the field on the north end. Athletes can sit in the home bleachers or the north end zone bleachers to sit with their parents and/or coaches.

– WHS asks that all youth teams be supervised by parents and/or coaches during the game.
