Westfield Youth Sports will once again offer a fall softball league in 2026. Please register your child before July 17 to reserve a spot on a team. The registration fee is $110 and there will be one night of practice per week. Team division include: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U and 14/16U.
All leagues will focus on teaching the players the fundamentals of the sport. Previous experience is not required. Games will be played primarily against other WYSI teams, with some built-in travel within Hamilton County for some games.

Important Dates to Remember:
August 3: Coaches Meeting (registered assistant and head coaches only)
August 7*: First day of practices
August 24*: Opening Day

Season: The season will start in August and end in October
Practices: One night per week, 5:30-7:00 or 7-8:30. Most practices will be held at Monon Trail or Grand Park. 6U will have practices and games on the same day. The practice slot will be divided with the first half set for practice and the second half for the game.
Games: 10 game maximum, mostly weeknights with a few Saturdays or Sundays thrown in (might require some travel to nearby communities on weekends for 10U and up)
Uniforms: WYSI will provide jerseys. Parents will be asked to provide softball pants and socks (6U and 8U can wear shorts), cleats (no metal cleats), a fielding mask (not required for 6U) and a glove.
Equipment: Each player should have their own fielding mask and glove. Cleats (no metal) are recommended for all divisions, but tennis shoes are allowed. Batting helmets should have a metal cage around the face. WYSI will have some extra helmets and bats in their gear bag.
Clinics: WYSI Softball is working to gather information on clinics to be offered for Rec and Travel Softball players, focused on pitching, hitting and fielding.
Coaches: We need volunteers! Make sure to sign up to be a coach or assistant coach!
Background Checks Required: If you want to coach, you must complete a background check. To do this, please register in LeagueApps first; once registered to coach, you’ll automatically receive an email from Ankored to log in and complete your requirements.
