Register for Evaluations (Free to register)
Date: Saturday, May 30
Location: Monon Trail Athletic Complex
Teams: 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U
Schedule: TBD (All registered athletes will be notified)
Westfield Youth Sports will hold evaluations to create Recreational Baseball All-Star Teams (8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U). All-Star players must complete the evaluation process to be eligible.
WYSI Recreational All-Star teams are formed to highlight the exceptional participation and talent from within the league. These teams will represent WSYI and provide an opportunity for athletes to compete at a higher level and to be recognized for their commitment and performance throughout the season. WYSI supports All-Star teams for 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U. Additional ages and teams can be considered with approval from the Baseball Committee.
Participation Eligibility: All players must be an active WYSI Recreational Baseball player. Non-WYSI athletes will not be considered. A minimum of 10 players will be needed to form an All-Star team for any age.
Selection Process: Players may be nominated by their respective league head coaches or earn consideration through participation in open practices. Nominations are based on a combination of preseason evaluations, practice performance, game performance, attitude, and attendance.
Head coaches will hold a minimum of one open team practice (with the option to schedule more) prior to finalizing rosters. Upon request, coaches will provide players and parents with transparency regarding the player’s current depth chart position and the role they are projected to have on the team. Rosters will be finalized and players notified no later than the final week of the recreational regular season. At that time, players may either decline participation or accept their spot and submit payment for All-Star fees.
All selected players will be notified following the evaluation process. If selected, there will be additional All-Star season fees that will apply. Fees will be included in the All-Star registration invitation. There is no charge to register for evaluations.
Playing Time: Playing time is not guaranteed. The lineup will be based on player performance, positional needs, team strategy, practice attendance and coach evaluations.
Code of Conduct: All coaches, players and families involved in the all-star program are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, integrity, and must comply with WYSI’s Code of Conduct Policy. Violations may result in the removal from the team.
Practice Schedule: One to three practices per week will be permitted once the recreational season ends.

Important note: While All-Stars is not Travel Baseball, there will be a greater level of commitment from players and parents than what is expected through the WYSI recreational program. The coaches would like for all parents and players to keep this in mind when committing to the evaluation process.
