Who We Are
Founded in 1989, WYSI has grown alongside Westfield from a small community league into the primary youth sports infrastructure for one of Indiana’s fastest-growing cities.
Our Mission
Westfield Youth Sports is dedicated to promoting amateur youth athletics for school-age children living within the Westfield Washington School District. Our goal is to foster competition, teamwork, and skill development through affiliation with local and national amateur athletic organizations. We strive to provide equal opportunity for all eligible children, regardless of race, color, creed, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, to participate in instructional, recreational, and competitive sports programs.
Governance
Commissioner-based structure with a volunteer Board of Directors. Monthly public meetings are open to the community.
Structure
501(c)(3) nonprofit operating on a balanced budget year over year — funded entirely by registration fees, in-kind support, and corporate donors. No public subsidy.
Community Impact
Over 4,200 Athletes Registered in 2025
Nearly 1,100 Parents Volunteered
595 Scholarships Awarded since 2020 ($97,000)
Growing Community
Westfield’s population and school enrollment have grown in lockstep for two decades. Every new family that arrives is a potential WYSI family, creating an increasing demand for youth sports programs and facilities. Westfield Washington Schools is the #1 fastest-growing school district in Indiana. The families arriving today are registering their kids in WYSI programs tomorrow. The projected figures for 2026 city and school data indicate this growth is set to continue.

We are fostering deeper relationships with the City and Schools as co-investors in shared community infrastructure built to serve Westfield families for generations.
