Recreational Softball Evaluations

WYSI Recreational Softball evaluations will be held on Sunday, March 1. Evaluations will be held at the Westfield High School Multi-Purpose Facility, which is right next to the gym.

We strongly recommend that all players registered for 8U, 10U and 12U attend evaluations in order to assist in creating fair and balanced teams for the season.

Players will be evaluated on the following skills: 

  1. Hitting
  2. Fielding Ground Balls
  3. Fielding Pop Flies
  4. Throwing Accuracy

For 10U and 12U, all pitchers and catchers must be evaluated. If your daughter is interested in either position and is in 10U or 12U, she needs to attend evaluations. If your daughter has her own catcher’s gear, please have her bring it for evaluations. If she does not have her own, a few sets will be provided for use.

Gear required for evaluations: 

  • Athletic clothing
  • Tennis shoes (no cleats)
  • Glove
  • Fielding mask
  • Bat
  • Batting helmet

If, at this time, your daughter does not have all of her gear, she should be able to borrow from another player.

Times: **All times are approximate and may change as we get closer to March 1**

  • 8U – 12:00 – 2:00 (Check-in will start about 11:15)
  • 10U – 2:30 – 4:00 (Check-in will start about 1:45)
  • 12U – 4:15 – 5:00 (Check-in will start about 3:45)

Pitchers and Catchers: 12U Pitchers & Catchers will start at 3:45. 10U Pitchers & Catchers will start approximately at 4:00

At this time, we are still in need of head coaches for 8U and 18U, as well as assistants for 8U, 10U, 12U and 18U. If you are able to volunteer your time, please register through the WYSI website just like you registered your player.
